Cain Strata is a knight who is gifted (or cursed?) with the power of foresight. He can see flashes of cataclysmic events before they happen. He is a knight without a country, his homeland lost to a tragedy he foresaw but couldn't prevent. Now he is on a journey to the Magic School of Dero, to warn their powerful mages of the Apocalypse he foresees. Yet he can only see the outcome, not the cause, and he struggles to put the pieces together and find the trigger that leads to the end of the world. In battle, it gives him a 'spider-sense' of sorts, that lets him anticipate attacks before they come.
Cain is responsible, noble, honorable, heroic, altruistic, serious to the point where he can come across as stiff and humorless. He also sees the world in black and white, struggles with seeing both sides of an issue, sharing another's perspective or trusting others to be as competent as he is. Though well-meaning, his chivalry can come across as chauvinistic or patronizing, but to those he rescues and protects they may see him as the hero he tries so hard to be.
